How to change the first day of the week and first week of the year in all calendars

Objective

While Dynamics 365 offers a range of predefined formats to choose from during system setup, you can also define custom settings. This page shows you how to adjust the first day of the week and the first week of the year in all your calendars.

Process

System Admin
Go to Power Platform Admin Center
System Admin
Open Regional Formatting Settings of your Environment
System Admin
Apply desired formatting

Prerequisites

  • You are System Admin

Click Through

  • Start in the Power Platform Admin Center
  • Login with your Admin credentials
  • In the left side menu, click on Environments
  • Click on the three dots next to the desired Environment and select Settings
  • Under Business, click on Regional Formatting (Screenshot)
  • In the new window that opens, click on the arrow next to 'Settings', then on Administration (Screenshot)
  • Click on System Settings
  • Navigate to the tab Formats and click on Customize (Screenshot)
  • Click on the tab Date
    • Here you can define what the first Day of the Week is as well as what counts as the first calendar week (First Week of the Year).
    • Be aware that different countries have different rules and regulations what counts as the first week, e.g. in Germany the first 4-day week is considered the first calendar week.
  • After defining your preferences, click Apply, then close the window with OK (Screenshot)
  • Close the System Settings window with OK
  • Your changes are now applied to the system
